Burning software to put MP4s on DVD video?

Hi everyone, I've been trying to find a free program that would allow me to burn my mp4 vids onto a DVD that I can then play on my DVD player. So far I've stumbled into 2 scams (freemake and wondershare) and one that simply doesn't have an mp4 conversion option (ashampoo). Can anyone help me with a suggestion about a safe program to download that would get this done? I'm a PC/Windows user. Thanks so much in advance for any advice!

It's been a few years (and at least one PC) but I think I used to use AVS2DVD for doing this, or at least, for compiling ISOs that other software can burn to DVD.

Thanks very much for the advice! I downloaded AVS2DVD, but it gave me a pop-up warning that, due to the AAC audio track on my vid, there was a "high probability that image and audio would become out of sync." I stopped there. *shrug* Eventually I wound up unearthing an old program called DVD Flicks that was a bit simpler and more user friendly for Windows. It worked okay, and seems to have included in its software package a version of ImgBurn, in case anyone else winds up trying to do this, too. It sufficed to give me a DVD of my vid that plays on my TV :)

FYI, I've read that if you try to download ImgBurn from its official site it comes with a lot of adware.

I don't remember what formats it allowed, but I've used ImgBurn in the past and it worked on my DVD player.
