Hi everyone! condnsdmlk and I are running a vidshow at this year's VidUKon and we are looking for recs. The theme is work.

Any vid about work or workplaces, or about striking and workplace organising/action, would be lovely to hear about.

Vids focusing on work that is unwaged -- for example slavery or housework -- are very much welcome.

"This Sullen Welsh Heart" by futuransky and other Pride vids, which are directly about labor organizing

"The Organization And the Assets" and "Making the Fellowship" by echan and "Landsailor" by raven, which are more about aspects of work (complicity and joy)

Jarrow's Wretches and Kings is a really excellent look at class/worker struggle in Battlestar Galactica, particularly the arc about a fuel ship staging a worker's strike. The show uses language lifted from Salvio's "Operation of the Machine" speech, and the Linkin Park song Jarrow uses samples actual audio of the speech, so it's labor rights all the way down!

It's sort of half about the Newsies strike and half a ship vid (and it's only the second motion-source vid I've made, so quality is dubious) but I did make a Newsies (the 1992 film) vid.
