I’m putting together a vidshow for this year’s Vidukon about revolutions and social change, both large and small scale, and I’m looking for some recs! Anyone have any thoughts on good vids on that theme? I’m particularly interested in less well known or non-Western stories, they can be from real life or from fiction, any genre.

Also I’m actively looking for premieres that fit that bill, so if you have a vid you’d like to make on that theme and it can be finished by May, get in touch!

"Say Her Name" leaps to mind, and you might also like to use the Parable constructed book trailer. You might also find my vid "Pipeline" applicable, as it's about feminism in the software industry.

(I haven't seen any of the Pride vids in this year's Festivids because I am waiting till after I see the film itself.)

Yes, please go ahead and show Pipeline! It's also ok for you to remix, translate, etc.!

I hope attendees enjoyed "Pipeline" -- is a playlist or a set of Vidukon playlists available? Thank you!

Aha, figured it out -- Saturday the 11th, "Ecstasy, Agony, Revolution!" Thank you for screening my vid!

I ran a vidshow on this theme two years ago at Vividcon with bradcpu. Happy to share my playlist if you like.

Here you go! This was in 2014, so I'm sure there are newer vids on this topic that you can add -- there were at least three revolution vids in Festivids this year.

I did a playlist on this theme for Wiscon 38. I hope it's helpful.

Besides for the umpteen BSG vids that fit (e.g., Fix You, Slow Down Gandhi), my mind jumps to the Xena vid Become You by Fray Adjacent.

(Yeah, the fan video that got adapted into the official music video - story - the framing of the original vid is very much MCR as counter culture and there are lots of quotes from the band included in it that basically are the vidder going this is why I love them, and a bunch of them are basically the band going no, we are not useless, art is powerful and it can change the world; you can change the world, keep fighting.)
