absolutedestinyI don't know if any of you fine folks use or read reddit but I went ahead an made a vidding subreddit. There are a number of fannish subreddits out there so I thought I'd make one for this community.
I am aware that some subreddits are filled with assholes. With that in mind, here are some things to note about this community:
Things in it are public to view but the community is set up to only show posts on the front page for people who have actually subscribed to it. This is much like many of the special-interest subreddits out there. This means that the vids you post or rec will not be appearing on the front page without someone deliberately crossposting to another reddit. It's really a community for people who are looking for vids, much like the amv subreddits are.
The vidding subreddit is for posting things you like (or find interesting) that are related to this community. Old, new, funny, thoughtful, whatever. It's perfect for insta-recs, links to tech guides, newsy tidbits and all kinds of vidding sundries that you think may not be relevant to clutter your flist with. It's not designed to be in any way a replacement of the discussions found in places like the vidpub forum, this community and so on.
It's also totally up to the community to use it. I've made one post and will likely make more but really I made it to see if there was interest. If not, then it stays as it is with a single link to Both Sides Now and I'm fine with that.
If it gets some use I will likely add some moderators from the core contributors but for now I'll just see how it goes (if at all).
