Last Call for Delicious Users: Transfer Your Bookmarks By Sept 23

As you may remember, AVOS acquired delicious last year. In order for your bookmarks to be transferred and not be deleted, you need to log into delicious and accept their terms and privacy policy. You can do this here.

Since many fans may not have received (or read) the notification in April, please repost this announcement in your journals and community blogs (if permitted). If you love someone's delicious links or rely on a community's delicious list, please consider writing to them and ask accept the AVOS transition or transition their bookmarks to another backup service such as  Diigo.

After September 23, if the delicious account owner has not opted in to the transfer, their bookmarks will be permanently deleted (and of course any rec links that use delicious will no longer work).

Announcing the Beginning of This Year's Festivids

I'm just posting to announce that the fandom nomination period for this year's Festivids has begun!

festivids is a yearly small-fandom giftvid exchange. It's modeled on Yuletide; every vidder signs up with fandoms they request, and fandoms they can offer. The fandoms are all "small" fandoms, which we are defining this year to mean fandoms where there are: (a) 100 or fewer online vids for the fandom, or (b) 8 or fewer new vids posted online in the past four years, or (c) vids by 5 or fewer vidders available online.

Each vidder receives a secret assignment and makes a giftvid for their recipient. The vids are posted anonymously in January, and after two weeks, the identities of the vidders are revealed. Last year's vids are posted here.

Right now, we've just begun the nomination period, to come up with a list of small fandoms that will be included in this year's Festivids. Nominations end on September 23, and signups to participate run from October 5 through October 15. You can find out more about the nomination process at this post.
