[personal profile] futuransky posting in [community profile] vidding
Vidding is a technology. Vidders have lots to say about gender. Wouldn't a feminist con be a great venue in which to say some of those things?

WisCon is a feminist science fiction convention held each May in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. 2013 will be the fourth year in which we've held the Vid Party, and we are looking for premiere vids (never screened or posted online before). We've had some great premieres in the past, including [personal profile] charmax's Space Girl, [personal profile] such_heights's The Skins, [personal profile] chaila's Parable, [personal profile] beccatoria's Machine, and [personal profile] garrideb's Sky is Open.

We welcome all fanvids in all genres and from all traditions of fannish video production, so long as they have some connection to WisCon's focus on feminism and science fiction. WisCon defines feminism broadly, and we're interested in vids that engage with any aspect of gender, sexuality, race, disability, and/or class.

This year we're inviting you to think about the theme of gender and technology, but we're open to extremely wide-ranging definitions of what that might mean. Technologies can be biological, social, mechanical, and they can affect bodies, relationships, and worlds in so very many different ways. We can't wait to see what you have to say. :)
