Megaupload R.I.P.

Seen first via giandujakiss: Megaupload shut down. abc news link. WSJ link.

Since some vidders use Megaupload or Megavideo to host their vids, I am curious to know what other hosting sites are currently working well, and whether that depends of having a paid account, etc.

I like mediafire and have found it to use. Free accounts can upload files up to 200MB and they stay around as long as you log in and/or someone else downloads.

Other places that I have seen used for 350+MB files and that also allow anonymous uploads are have been

ah, interesting. i always thought multi-upload was part of the "Mega Conspiracy" <- can't believe the Justice Dept is calling it that!

Not a vidder but I use Multiupload for other uploading. Seems to work well even with big files and uploads to many services at once, very useful.

thanks for this! i only occasionally read lifehacker and wouldn't have seen this otherwise.
