I received a message last week about a (very short) online survey being conducted by two graduate students at Syracuse University. They were asking for volunteers to help them with their project. The questions on the survey are worded for youtube but I sent one of the researchers a message and they would like to include vidders who don't post on youtube or have stopped posting there since youtube has started blocking so many vids for bogus copyright infringement.
The original text of the message I received is under the cut. Links to the survey are below. Please, Star Wars vidders, lets help these guys out. They need 130 more people to take the survey by November 26!

Where it asks about how many vids you've posted on youtube, just put how many vids you've posted anywhere at all. You need to have posted at least one Star Wars vid somewhere on the internet, that's all.
Dear fan producer,
Our names are Alexis Finnerty and Dan Amernick, and we are graduate students at Syracuse University who are interested in studying online fandoms. We located your contact information through YouTube when we searched YouTube for Star Wars fan videos. We are conducting research on Star Wars fan producers for Syracuse University, and we would be very grateful if you would fill out a quick survey about your fan video uploading habits. You are under no obligation to participate in this study.
PURPOSE: In this study, we are trying to learn more about creative and technical self-efficacy -- one's belief in one's creative and technical skills -- and how it affects producing fan videos and posting them to YouTube.
REQUIREMENTS OF PARTICIPATION: You must be 13 years or older to participate. It is completely anonymous and will only take 5-10 minutes of your time.
Not everyone who takes part in this study will benefit. However, the scientific community will benefit by gaining a greater understanding of what creative and technical self-efficacy mean, and how it affects fan social interactions.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the research.

Please send these links to your friends who produce Star Wars music videos and upload them online. We need over 200 responses to get a good grade in the class!
We would be happy to send you a summary of the results and our conclusions at the end of the semester, if you wish.
Thanks again,
