( Vid Party Promo Image! (Gif) )Wiscon is a feminist science fiction convention held each May in Madison, Wisconsin. This year it is the weekend of May 23. The past several years, we have held a vid party on Friday of the convention, featuring both premieres and vid shows of older vids, and we will do the same again this year. We'd like as many people as are interested to be part of the programming for the vid party!
1)
Premieres:
We are looking for your new vids to premiere at the con! We welcome all fanvids in all genres and from all traditions of fannish video production, and welcome vids from new vidders. The premiere deadline is May 9. See

2)
Playlists: We are also looking for people
to put together short themed playlists (i.e. short vid shows) to play at the party. You choose your own theme and pick 3-6ish vids that fit the theme. These shorter blocks of programming work really well at the party! All playlists screen at the party and are posted online afterwards. Playlists due May 9. See

Vidding workshop: We are also planning to run an online vidding workshop the weekend of March 1-2 at

wiscon_vidparty. The workshop will be a chance for new or potential vidders to find out more about what’s involved in making a vid, and for vidders of all skill levels to discuss vidding and share tips and ideas. Vidders, please consider volunteering to introduce yourself and share your knowledge! It will not be a big commitment.

Mentoring: As part of the workshop, we are also planning to match up new vidders with experienced vidders as mentors, to cheerlead, answer questions and/or beta.
Both new or potential vidders who'd like a buddy, and experienced vidders willing to mentor,sign up here!
You do NOT have to be attending Wiscon to submit premieres or playlists, or to participate in the workshop. If you're interested, we'd love to have you!
