Vid suggestions for VidUKon tech. panel

beccatoria  and I are going to be running a technical show/panel this VidUKon. In it we're going to be using snippets from vids to illustrate the techniques we're talking about in the panel.

Can you guys think of any vids that would be good ones to use as examples? Since we're using snippets, the whole vid doesn't need to be relevant. But if there was a bit that stuck in your mind as awesome use of colour, or clever use of audio etc - link it here!

Here are the 5 topics we're hoping to cover:

1) Colour
2) Split Screens & Masking
3) Motion
4) Audio

5) Any vids that use on or all of the above in a cool way that we could use in the finishing vid-show

Franzeska's Happy Now?

At the forty-five second mark, uses color to draw viewer's attention away from the character with cinematographic focus, to a character in the background.

Sorry to not have time stamps, but:

heresluck's New Frontier features great use of motion throughout. It also uses masking in the "volunteer" parts and in the clip that shows River's spinny brain on the screen (the guy looking at it is from another shot in the scene). Finally, she subtly tinted some of the clips blue to match adjacent clips. You can find some discussion of this at her commentary.

Also, luminosity's Vogue is amazing in its use of color. I think you need to contact her for a downloadable copy, though I guess you'd be doing that anyway?

ETA: I totally wish I could attend this panel! What a great idea.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I actually have an old copy of Vogue from the days before her site went down, but I agree - super fantastic vid.

And I think somehow I missed that River vid - certainly I didn't know there was a commentary. Will check it out!

Heh, now that my dream of going to Vividcon is probably coming true, I'm starting to fantasize about going to the next Vidukon. So maybe next time, if I manage to save the money! :D
