Thank you to damned_colonial for gifting vidding with a paid account! (Thanks also for supporting Dreamwidth!)

Paid communities can be full-text searched by anyone, not just paid users, and the search functionality that DW has implemented is pretty awesome.

hey, since you mention it, can I ask . . . how come there's no tagging system in place on the DW vidding comm? Is it just a case of being a giant job that someone needs to go back and start doing? Because I bet I could find volunteers. :)

Hi, I went through and added tags. It's not that it was a giant job, rather that it was a small one ... it took over 6 months for us to get more than 20 entries total. It didn't really feel like we needed tags when everything fit on one page!

People can now add tags to their posts (if that tag already exists). If the needed tag doesn't exist, I created a !need_tag tag that can be used as a placeholder.

This is basically the LJ vidding tagging system, except that I'm creating a tag for everything rather than waiting until we have at least three entries.

ah, I see! I should've investigated a little further there. :) Thanks for setting that up - tag systems just make me feel calm and happy.
